Dreams

Let me share a story today.

There were these two brothers who inherited an old bungalow from their dad who passed away. They discussed about their dreams that they want to live in big house and thought that the old bungalow that their father had left to them was not fantastic.

Therefore, they decided to sell the plot of land and in search for their desired house. After weeks and months of searching, they finally found one penthouse that they desired. It was at level 76, the highest level of the building. They spent another week doing packing up.

Finally, they shifted all their belongings to the building and as they were about to take the lift to move their belongings to their penthouse, the lift was out of order! It would take some time for the lift to be fixed so they decided to carry their belongings all the way up via the stairs.

When they reached the 10th floor, they felt tired and considering if they should give up and come back another day. However, they persisted on as they think they already climbed up 10 levels and moving down would also be as tedious as climbing up. When they finally came to the 20th floor, they felt very tired. If they gave up now, it would be a waste, they already completed 30 percent of the journey to their house already.

Therefore, they decided to leave some of their less valuable belongings and continue to climb up the stairs. They may come back other times to collect back. They encouraged and supported each other throughout the journey and also left some of their belongings along the way to make their journey less weary.

Finally, they reached the 60th floor. They already perspired till inside out and they are so exhausted that they decided to leave all their belongings and only carry with them the most valuable luggage with them.

Eventually! They reached at the doorstep of their dream house! The younger brother was very excited and called out to his elder brother,"Bro! Faster! Where is the key?" However, the key was nowhere to be found. They have lost the key along the way.

So what is the moral of the story? The floors actually represents the ages of our life. Initially when we first started off, we have lots of dreams and goals but along the way, we started to let go some of our dreams and goals in life. Why? We gave ourselves lots of excuses like we are tired, no choice, we have to give up. When we faced with rejections and challenges, the easiest route is to give up. And ultimately as we aged we tend to live day by day without any goals in life and let the days just passed by. Therefore, along the way, the brothers have lost their key to their success.

Hence, whatever dreams and goals we have in life be it when we are young or now, hold on tight to them! That is the purpose we live for, to achieve our goals and dreams in life! =) Never give up on your dreams! =)
