A trip to the Market

Saturday

That saturday morning, I was awoke by my mummy... haiz... these few days kept running errands for her... kind of fed up at times... this time... I need to go to the market to purchase some goceries...

Man! Are you kidding me? I usually accompany her to purchase... Now, I'm going on my own? What? Haiz... My mum asked me to purchase sheng yu... good for healing after operation...

So here I was taking a bus to the wet market... I was nervous... All were old aunties and uncles... no offences... I was looking kind of weird I guess... I was looking for the shop that my mum was talking about to buy the sheng yu...

Finally found it... Standing in front of the shop... why nobody? Then an uncle? came...
"Yes"
"I want shengyu"
I think he felt strange...
"oh shengyu ar... is it that?"
(he pointed to a transparent container pretty far away)
I was blur... one was because I could not really see how the fish inside the container looked like as it was so damn far away... and another was that I did not know how in the world the shengyu look like... I just assume that it looked like some kind of fish look...
"huh?"
the uncle seeing I was so blur... he asked something to confirm if i had asked for the right thing...
"is it for operation one?"
I was delighted.
"ya" I think I did nod my head forcefully...
"okay, one for $5"
"I want 2 of them"
"is for operation one rite?"he asked again.
"yap, I want sheng yu pian as well."
"what else do you want?" I thought I just said? Nvm...
"sheng yu pian... $5..."
"okay, u come back and collect later I'll prepare them."

So I headed off to shop my goceries... shop for some potatoes and tomatoes... then went to another veggies shop... I oberved how some aunties took their veggies... I did it too... since I have no idea as nobody attended to me... haiz... maybe they saw me some kiddo... haiz...

I passed the basket of veggie to auntie to count...
"$6"
I was shocked... I stared at her blank... so expensive man!
I just gave 6 bucks to her...
then I dunno why she gave me some cong for free... haha! she must have done something guilty... whatever...

then bought some fishball and fish... then went back to collect shengyu and that was all for my 1st trip to wet market on my own... WOW!

I just wanna say... I don't want to become a housewife man! haiz... so xin ku! 3 cheers to all mothers and housewives! Especially to my mum! =)

while other people were in school learning new knowledge, trying to adapt... I was learning to become a housewife I guess... haiz...

learning how to cook... wash the clothes... hang the clothes... sweep the floor and mop the floor... so tiring... haiz... just endure! =)

all the best to me! =)

Wednesday
A pretty hectic day once again... Woke up in the morning and my mummy asked me to run errands again. No choice she had to rest. Cooking pig's stomach soup today... so I prepared the ingredients for the soup... then dump everything into the boiling water...

after cooking, went out to buy some herb... dansheng... what the... went in... nobody served me... normally went in the herbs shop with my mummy, my mummy just look around somebody will served her... haiz... so I approached a young chap... no choice I have to ask somebody cos I don't know how in the world dansheng look like... after he showed me... I was like oh that is dansheng... it resembled smaller version of a tree trunk... much much smaller... and it is kind of soft... so I took my order...

"300g"
"so okay.. you want to cut it?"
(huh? cut? need to cut? I not really sure...)
"er... oh okay..."
"how long or how short you want to cut it? This short or this long..." (he showed me the length... I was like... got difference? I really had no idea... ) I see the most suitable one then agreed... have to act as if you know something but in fact you know nothing... haha...

then went to NTUC to shop for some goceries... bought lots of stuffs... some veggies... some snacks... some biscuits... milk... ice-cream... fruits.... chicken... man... so many stuffs... I'm surprised I could manage all these back home... my two arms almost BROKE already....

I rushed home for lunch and went for tuition... two tuition today... my student smsed me...
"why you always late one?" I only saw it when I reached... I don't even bother anyway... so busy... haiz... but seeing them improve is my greatest moltivation! =) okay...

my life is simple... how I wish I can go East Coast Cycle! =)

see ya! =)

5th August 2008

Tuesday
A really busy day as well... not a moment of slacking... I slept till 11am this morning... As I slept really late last night to update my blog... haha...

After washing up, need to cook for my mummy to eat her lunch while I just had my breakfast Milo! =) Milo simply rocks! I wonder who invented such a delicious drink. I can't live without Milo! My 1st time cooking except during home econs in sec school... cook white porridge and fried fish... not bad for a start huh? And some herbal soup... some gingeng... taste not bad... not bitter... haha... =)

after cooking... I went to take a short break then need to sweep the floor and mop the floor... damn so much hair on the floor and so dusty despite that I mopped two days ago.... so tiring...

Then hee.... I went to Bishan Park with Huiyi wanting to cycle... Man! We got lost... but managed to find our way with the help of the map... my cousin Ben came to find us too... he rode there with his bike... man! he had a fall... bleeding in his left arm... his driving skills damn good one... dunno why he fell... maybe due to the sudden brake that he lost his balance... we were damn scare... a passerby told us he was okay... only bruise on his arm... I didn't have time to thank that passerby....

we went back to the rental shop to apply some medication... that uncle offered some alcohol rub to wash the wound... Ben was scared of pain so he applied very gently... the uncle seeing that, he grapped his arms and helped him to apply... Ben screamed in silence... Man! His face was showing pain! I screamed for him...

But after that we went on cycling... realising that Bishan Park 2 was so damn small and only one rental shop... monoploy... no wonder uncle charged so much even for ice-cream... more expensive than outside... but uncle was quite a nice guy... thanks uncle... =)

next time I will go to East Coast! It was much cheaper according to Huiyi! Had a memorable time! =)

Just saw my timetable! Man! It was so packed! even sat I got lessons! Haiz... maybe that is the price to pay to get a degree cert in 2 years? But I'm excited to get back to school again! =) All the best to ME! =)

See ya! =)

Discharge

My mum finally discharged from hospital... She had an operation on Friday. She was hospitalised on Thursday. Accompanied her to the hospital on Thursday. She was so worried that she commented that she didn't want op anymore. I did not know how to console. I felt so useless.

Accompanied her for a while then I went for my tuition. How I wish I can accompany her for a little more.

Friday, I thought her OP was at 12 noon. Might be earlier or later. Grandma said she wanted to go so I went to her house to bring her. But my cousin ended school at 11.30am. So had to wait for my grandma to pick him up. By the time we reached there the OP already finished. My mum just finished her OP.

At the hospital for a few days, the nurses there pretty good, pretty friendly. Service good! =) Doctors too. They are so young! Pretty and shuai! The woman beside my mum, she had stage 4 cancer. But yet she is still so hyperactive and cheerful! It is a good sign. May her get well soon... =)

MONDAY
I went for my first revision. The night before I went to check that my 1st favourite instructor and my cute instructor were on duty. WOW! and I got a feeling that I might get my cute instructor. But my head kept telling me don't get so excited. Revision will get different instructors. So I went to the lesson thinking that I would get my 14th instructor.

I was early and that was a real surprised. Checked my car no. 70. seemed familar. But don't really take notice. So I went to the kiosk to book 3 more revision lessons. Start of the month and I was going on low cash already.

Stone for a while. Look at my driving booklet again and again since there is nothing to look at. My student smsed me at that time to cancel the tuition. Gave me good news, she passed her pre-test... good work girl! =)

Then I remembered my car number is 70. I got took that car before. Man! I took that car when I was with my CUTE instructor. My excitement rose again. Is it him later? haha... Hopefully but I really doubt so...

I went 5 minutes early to find my car. Even before I got into my car, my instructor came to me and greeted me. Guess who? Ya... It is HIM! I even double check if I had seen wrongly. Nope. It really my CUTE instructor.

"GooD morning, Sam!" He was all smiling! =)
I was shocked. A few seconds later I then replied him.
"Morning."
We got into the car. He started the engine. I put my book underneath the handbrake. I put on my safety belt. He took my book and asked me, "today revision huh?"

"Ya."
"I thought I would never see you again."
"Oh"
"Because normally revision they would change instructors."

Then asked a few questions about how I did, he explained the important things to take note on the circuit. That was like WOW! Maybe some instructors said before but not to details, just mention so I didn't take notice. But he was to details making sure I remember. He also said that try not get any points in the circuit.

He also told me about his accident the day before which was Sunday. He doesn't look like an instructor but like some kind of long lost friend. Like wanted to share lots of stories. Maybe that's him. The cheeky and talkative guy. His student followed safety rule that is to stop at amber light at traffic lights junction. But the taxi followed closely behind want to beat the light. He could not stop in time when the trainning car stopped. Man! Hit! The taxi uncle kanna fine of $500. while my instructor needed to write report.

The taxi driver asked him something pretty funny.
"When you see me behind going to hit why never accelate?"
He replied,"Uncle, I only got brake, I can't accelate. I also wish I can accelate, uncle."
How did the taxi driver learnt driving last time? How did the trainning car previously looked like? With accelator?

Don't know why I felt a sense of saddness within him. Was I being too sensitive?

So when we were out on the road that day, he was damn scared especially at the traffic lights, kept reminding me time and again to slow down at traffic lights and check rear mirror when stopping. Haha! He revised with me which are the routes that needed to be taken note of. No need to remember the test route. Thank man! =)

He asked me what did my previous instructor who was the COOL and STRICT guy said.

"My lane changing very adruptly."
He was damn worried again.
"Why? I thought I went through everything with you."
Oh man... I felt so guilty.
"So he got tell you how to do it right?"
"Ya."

He actually remembered what he had taught me but he forgot that he asked for my test date a number of times and he even doodled the date on my book. He asked me again. But this time I didn't say,"You asked me a lot of times already."
Because I changed the date to one week earlier.

He gave me encouragement again but still need room for improvement.

"Actually your driving okay...can pass one la... "
I was waiting for him to continue.
"Ya?"
"But... your driving a bit slow...and..."
"And what?"
"and how to say... like not very natural."

I thought to myself. Huh? What not natural? Ponder over this for very long. Why not natural? What is natural?

Back to the circuit. I mounted the circuit a number of times.
"Wah! How many times you mounted the kerb today?"
So he spoted sometime wrong... normally instructors would just say just now your turn too early but didn't solve the problem for me.

But CUTE instructor was different, he explained to me how I should do it so that I won't mount the kerb.

Before the lesson ended, he said," see you again."
I thought to myself will we see again?

Anyway that lesson, the weather changed so fast. One moment the weather so damn hot, the other moment it is rainning heavily. And so cooling. Just lower the temperature in the car, need to increase again. The next minute it was sunny again. Wah! Fooling us ar? and so warm. But instructor was sneezing. so I guess he didn't lower the temperature. But I was sweating all over. Nevermind.

So all that is all for my driving... =) LOVE IT! =)

Then went to hospital to discharge my mother. Auntie came and brought us to grandma's house. She intended to stay at grandma's house. But then not to again. For some reasons. Anyway, been tired out these days, mop the floor, wash the clothes... rushing here and there...

Went to cycle downstairs with my two cute cousins. haha! So smelly after that... but still we went to J8 to catch a movie... $ not enough... a pretty good movie... but I was expecting more... It was like no new interesting from Jack Neo.. It was like the same tactics he used for the other movies so I didn't feel the "punch" in this movie. I did laugh but I didn't cry. I did cry for I not stupid 1 n 2 and Home Run.... But not for this... But still it was still a not bad movie... =) as it was enjoyable... =)

That's all for my interesting MONDAY! I'm in for more FUN on Tuesday! =)
